The filter is the heart of any drip system.
All micro systems whether they are off mains or bore require filtration. The amount of filtration depends on the quality of the supply eater and the size of the system. In some domestic cases, a standard 20mm inline screen filter is sufficient for mains type applications. However, integrated dripper systems require a high standard of filtration as is provided by cleanable disc filters. In the case of bores, this filter type may also be acceptable depending on what is coming out of the bore. On bores producing sand, a self-flushing unit may be required or a larger unit with large screen area. Where algae are present, sand filtration may be necessary.
